Today I joined my friend, Mandy, and her mom at Corks and Canvas for the Sunday Soiree. Basically it is an art class where you paint a picture to take home. We were brave and went straight for the "Michalopoulos" interpretation. Four hours later...

Aunt Lori's Visit to Baton Rouge
This weekend we went to Baton Rouge to visit with Aunt Lori and Uncle Andrew who were in town from Birmingham. We walked around the shops at Town Place and enjoyed some good seafood at one of the new restaurants. Later that day we cheered on the Tigers as they defeated Mississippi State 34-24...Geaux Tigers!!!

Sneak Preview...
OK...Austin has been 'chomping at the bit' to get ready for Halloween. Daily he asks me how long until trick or treat and when can we decorate our yard with the spider webs. When I found out that the party store was open until 9pm we gave in and took him to pick out his costume. It was a tough decision...power rangers, darth vader, transformers. Here is a sneak peek of his first choice.

Madelyn and Daniel's Baptism
This morning we celebrated the Baptism of Madelyn and Daniel at Mary Queen of Peace in Mandeville. Everything went well and all of the kids in attendance were on good behavior. It was fun watching Brad dress Daniel while the priest waited and Kevin and Trey stood over his shoulder with the candle! Ha Ha! We love yall!

Happy Birthday Fun
Austin had a great time Saturday at Nadia's 4th Birthday party. They celebrated at AnimalLand where they chose an animal to get 'stuffed' at the party. Austin chose a horse which he named "Nay-Nay" and picked out a Halloween t-shirt for him. Everyone had a great time singing karaoke and eating cake and ice cream, even Lauren! Happy Birthday, Nadia!

Surviving Huricane Gustav
September started with a bang as we awaited news to see where Hurricane Gustav would strike. We decided to evacuate Mandeville early Saturday morning to be on the safe side (and not to get caught in contra-flow). We went to the Veillettes to stay with Grandpa...Rich and Ronnie were enjoying the US Open in NY. As it turned out, Mandy made out OK but Baton Rouge got hit pretty hard. Both the Veillettes and my mom lost 2 trees. Thank goodness for great friends and neighbors who were ready, willing, and able to help chainsaw, rake, and clear away all the mess the storm left behind. We love good friends and neighbors!!
